Summary

This icehouse is large and in 1978 remained well preserved. The brick entrance tunnel was around 1.5m high, unusually pointed, and the buried dome is of brick with no door. The structure dates to the 18th or early 19th century, and is said to have originally had three doors.

Ice-house.
Large well preserved, on bank above road (detail on 6 inch OS (S1) either not quite correct or road has been widened - probably former). Brick entrance tunnel around 1.5m high, unusually pointed, with door frame halfway along. Dome buried, brick, no door. 18th or early 19th century.

NIAS note that there were originally three doors and that the well is filled with rubbish as of 1992.
