FINDS POSSIBLY IN THE KING'S LYNN MUSEUM

The King's Lynn Museun holds a ?Mesolithic flint core from an unknown site in Methwold. This is described as patinated white and having had long thin flakes (?blades) removed.
Information from record card (S1), which has a sketch by I. Thatcher on its reverse.
This object cannot be identified in the museum's records and it is not noted in (S2), which does list other material from this museum.

The HES also holds a sketch made by Thatcher at the same time of another flint object that was recorded as being in King's Lynn Museum (S3). This "flint hoe?" was from an unknown site.

FINDS IN OTHER MUSEUMS

The British Museum Sturge Collection includes a number of Upper Palaeolithic/Mesolithic worked flints that are recorded as being from "Methwold".
