Full Description
Pre 1937. Stray Find.
Two Bronze Age copper alloy bronze palstaves, one looped.
In the possession of [1] in 1937.
Information from record card (S1). See sketches (S2), which were traced from originals on (S1).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 17 September 2018.
Two palstaves in British Museum - one with loop (1976,0701.8) and the other without (1976,0701.9) - are very probably the same objects as those described above. Descriptions (in file) correspond with (S2). There is further evidence that [1] from whose collection these came, acquired Bronze Age tools from [2] in the form of an axe from Holt, see NHER 6484, and no other finds from Methwold recorded fit both sketches and details.
E. Rose (NAU), 16 July 1980. Information from record card (S3).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 17 September 2018.
