Documentary research has recorded a dwelling on or near the location of the present Manor House from the 15th century onwards, although the earliest physical evidence dates to the 16th century. Four phases of construction have been identified within the present Manor House. The earliest of these is represented by a 16th century pointed arch revealed during restoration work in 2003.
See (S2) for further details.
