Site of old hall, and urns dug up.
1720.
In building Mr Nelthorpe's House (on site of Elizabethan hall) two urns dug up. Now lost.
R.R. Clarke (NCM).
Old Ordnance Survey has 'Roman'.
R.A. Smith suggested Saxon.
