Full Description
Stray Find. October 1970.
A Late Saxon iron spearhead was found on ploughed surface, now in NCM.

16 February 1976. Fieldwalked by A. Rogerson (NAU) after harrowing and rolling.
Thetford Ware, especially in southwest corner where it is associated with spread of wattle impressed daub.
Also medieval sherds and lava quern fragments.
Also two Ipswich Ware sherds.

This is recorded as site 29 in (S2), where Thetford type ware occurs in a wide band parallel to the road. Some fragments of fired clay daub were found to the west of the site. The site continued to be occupied into the medieval period, and over 200 fragments of medieval pottery have been recovered. These finds are close to what was probably the core of the original village of Bodney.
