Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting has recovered a wide range of objects dating from the early prehistoric thought to the post-medieval period. Of particular note is the quantity of Iron Age finds that have been recovered from this fields. Ninety-eight sherds of Iron Age pottery were found during fieldwalking undertaken as part of the Fenland Project and subsequent work has seen the recovery of over 50 additional sherds and an Iron Age coin. Other notable finds include a prehistoric jet button, a Neolithic leaf arrowhead, a Roman military buckle and fragments of Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age, Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery.
