Summary

A Mesolithic microlithic, Neolithic leaf and triangular flint arrowheads, other worked flints, a Neolithic polished stone axe and fragments of Bronze Age pottery, were found here during fieldwalking (some undertaken as part of the Fenland Survey). Fragmetns of a Bronze Age sword or rapier may also have been recoverd here.

1965. Found on surface of ploughed field, about 823m (900 yard)s west northwest of Sterneshouse Farm.
Two Bronze Age sherds.

Pre 1974. Stray Find.
A number of objects were recovered in this area by F. Curis (Approx. TL 689 903; Curtis field 17; Context 3). These included:
1 Mesolithic 'microlith'.
2 Neolithic leaf arrowheads.
1 Neolithic triangular arrowhead.
1 'point'.
1 'ovate knife'.

Undated card by R. R. Clarke (NCM) discovered by W. Milligan (NCM) 1987 with this grid reference has 'bronze sword
(? same as rapier from Methwold 82 southwest)'. Latter being (S3). As find not marked on (S4), it may be that Clarke had
decided it was indeed another find wrongly located. Formerly numbered NHER 14631.
