Summary

Two early 18th-century colourwashed brick houses, two storeys high with a dormer attic and a continuous tiled gabled roof. A central carriage opening divides the properties.

Two houses. Early 18th century. Colourwashed brick. Plain-tile roof. Two storeys and dormer attic. Carriage opening in centre divides properties. No. 8 with a panelled door below a pedimented hood on plain door surrounds. Four-vaned fanlight. One sash window left and two to first floor, all with glazing bars and segmental arches. 19th century casement over carriage entrance. No. 10 entered through plain panelled door to left. One sash with glazing bars to right set within a flush frame. Two early 19th century casements to first floor and, to right of elevation, a blind window. Gabled roof continues over both houses. Two dormers, that to No.8 gabled, the other sloping. Internal gable-end stack to north. Second stack to south emerging through front roof slope. At the rear No.8 has a two-storey and attic cross wing under a very steeply-pitched Mansard roof. South face with a 20th century door and, at first floor, a 18th century casement. Tile-hung east gable-head. No.10 has a pantiled outshut with a wrought-iron casement.
Interior: No. 10 with a chamfered bridging beam in front ground-floor room. Late 20th century staircase.

October 1999. Site visit.
Brief inspection led to conclusions that No. 10 is early 18th century and No. 8 late 18th century. The carriage arch was punched through in the 19th century. Reused timbers were present.
