Full Description
August 1975. Visited.
Locality named as 'Skeleton Mill by [1].
No mill here but see nearby river reaches named after vanished mills. Origin of name?
E. Rose (NAU), 23 August 1975.
However, sketch map of Ludham in (S1) marks 'Skeleton Mill' against How Hill Trestle.
This may be a mistake, but may also indicate that the term 'skeleton mill' was a Norfolk term for trestle mills, rather than
that a skeleton was found here.
E. Rose (NAU), 16 September 1981.
[2] confirms that 'Skeleton Mill' is a Norfolk name for a trestle mill.
E. Rose (NAU).
