Summary

A range of prehistoric worked flints were recovered from this field during the 1950s and 1960s, including pieces of Mesolithic, Neolithic and Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date. Fragments of skull (possibly human) were also found here. Evaluation of the site as part of the Fenland Project identified scatters of prehistoric worked and burnt flint and animal bone fragments. This site was part of a group of lithic scatters on the Feltwell fen edge ridge. Metal-detecting in 2010 recovered a fragment of a medieval ewer.
