Map

9 June 1946. Ordnance Survey aerial photograph.
Varied cropmarks on Ordnance Survey aerial photograph.
Note on (S1) by R. R. Clarke (NCM)?

Cropmarks certainly present on this aerial photograph and also on appropriate frames of Fenland Survey made March to April 1982 by Cambridge University Committee for Aerial Archaeology. But the more recent photos show more natural ridges emerging from peat in the surrounding area than are visible on the older prints. The cropmarks on the older prints may perhaps simply have been the first of them to emerge.
F. Healy (NAU), 15 November 1982.
