Full Description
Various prehistoric objects known to have been found in Hockwold during the late 19th century or early 20th century but with little or no additional information regarding provenance.
FINDS IN THE NORWICH CASTLE MUSEUM
1954. Stray Find.
Found at Hockwold "in garden" by [1]:
1 Mesolithic/Neolithic large flint flake. Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1957.130). Noted in (S1).
Previously recorded as NHER 30143.
FINDS IN OTHER MUSEUMS
About 1915. Stray Find.
1 Neolithic "celt with taper butt, refashioned from large ground example". Donated to the Cambridge University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and noted in (S2). Information from (S3).
OTHER FINDS
Also three other polished axeheads and two barbed and arrowheads.
