Summary

A post medieval timber framed inn. The block on the street is late 16th century or 17th century in date, whilst the the rear wing dates to around 1700. Inside there is 17th-century panelling and a 17th-century staircase. A timber-framed barn to the rear dates to the late 18th or 19th century.

Timber framed inn; street block probably late 16th century, with 17th century panelling and staircase. Rear wing of brick with grand façade, about 1700. Later alterations. Manacles supposedly found in cellars where prisoners said to have been lodged.
