Map

November 2007. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of ring ditches forming a dispersed barrow cemetery are visible on aerial photographs. At least six ring ditches are present within this cemetery. It is centred around a double ring ditch flanked by two smaller single ring ditches (NHER 50704). These three ring ditches are located on Spong Hill, a north to south aligned ridge, which is famous for its Anglo Saxon cemetery (NHER 1012). On a hill to the west of the ridge, and separated from it by a small valley, is another single ring ditch (NHER 50703). To the east of Spong Hill, again separated from it by a small valley, is a spur of land on which are located a further two outlying ring ditches (NHER 20837, 50702).
