Summary

A group of former barrows and ring ditches visible on aerial photographs within the area of Sparhamhole Plantation, Bylaugh, indicate the presence of a Bronze Age round barrow cemetery (NHER 3053, NHER 12150, NHER 50634 and NHER 50635). An outlier to the main cemetery lies to the southeast (NHER 3052). The barrow cemetery is located on the valley side overlooking the River Wensum.

A group of former barrows and ring ditches visible on aerial photographs within the area of Sparhamhole Plantation, Bylaugh, indicate the presence of a Bronze Age round barrow cemetery (NHER 3053, NHER 12150, NHER 50634 and NHER 50635). The site is centred on TG 0523 1888. An outlier to the main cemetery lies to the southeast (NHER 3052). The barrow cemetery is located on the valley side overlooking the River Wensum. The barrows are located on a section of the valley slope that is delimited to the west and east by slight gullies running off the north from the main slope.
