FINDS IN THE NORWICH CASTLE MUSEUM

The Norwich Castle Museum's J. S. Warburton collection (NWHCM : 1929.153) includes 12 small potentially Mesolithic flint blades that are now in a bag marked "Weeting with Broomhill". It is unclear whether this was the provenance originally associated with these objects - only one blade has a provenance marked, which is "Bromehill, Weeting".

The NCM's Major P. Hamond collection (NWHCM : 1958.114) including a number of prehistoric worked flints from Weeting. These include a Late Upper Palaeolithic flint blade (marked W370) that is described in (S7) and listed in (S1).

The Hamond Collection also includes a number of later prehistoric flints objects. The Neolithic implements are listed in (S2) as 1 petit tranchet derivative arrowhead, 1 broken hollow-based arrowhead and 1 flaked axehead. It should be noted that the axehead is listed in the NCM's records as Mesolithic/Neolithic. The hollow-based arrowhead is illustrated in (S2) - the original of this drawing is held by HES (S3).
These finds were previously recorded under NHER 5646.

BRITISH MUSEUM STURGE COLLECTION
Various objects held by the British Museum. These finds were previously recorded as NHER 5645.

Neolithic, Beaker period and Bronze Age finds.
According to (S4) the British Museum Sturge Collection includes 76 Neolithic implements recorded as being found at Broomhill, including a 'celt' and a blade. Information from (S5), which also mentions a hammerstone recorded as being from the 'drift' [?sand and gravel]. A laurel leaf, a projectile head and a spurred flake (with its spur defined by two notches) are listed in (S2), suggesting the other objects are most likely flakes and other debitage.

OTHER FINDS IN MUSEUM COLLECTIONS
The Geological Museum in London holds a barbed and tanged arrowhead and a flint chisel, both of which were acquired from a Mr E. L. Arnold and recorded as coming from Broomhill. Information from (S2) and (S5).

The Cambridge University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (CUMAA) holds a number of worked flints that are listed as being from "Broomhill". These include a Mesolithic microlith (ex H. Dixon Hewitt) that was identified by R. Jacobi and described in (S7). The CUMAA also holds a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged flint arrowhead from Broomhill. This piece is listed in (S2).

A later prehistoric flint end scraper from 'Broomhill' is listed by (S6) as being held by the Birmingham Museum (Bir 1991A205).
