Map

January 2007. Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey.
Oak Wood Site 6:
A near-circular mound measuring approximately 6m in diameter was identified during a rapid earthwork survey of Oak Wood, Crackling Hill, and Sheringham Wood. The mound is terraced into a north-facing slope with a 1m scarp to the north and a slight ditch flanking it to the south. Slight irregularities on the ground nearby may be indications that this ditch continued to a roadside ditch (NHER 51340) which may be military in origin. The mound may also be of military origin.
