Summary

An L-shaped platform identified during an earthwork survey of Oak Wood in 2007. This platform is likely associated with the World War Two defenses installed throughout the wood (NHER 38264).

Oak Wood Site 9:
An L-shaped platform was identified during a rapid earthwork survey of Oak Wood, Crackling Hill, and Sheringham Wood. The platform measures 6m by 6m, with the arms set at greater than 90 degrees, and is terraced by 0.8m onto the north and west-facing slopes. It is likely a remnant of the World War Two military defensess in Oak Wood (NHER 38264).
