Summary

Several human and animal bones were discovered between the end of Minstergate and the Little Ouse River during the construction of the Thetford ring road in 1968. One human skull has been identified as that of a lightly built male, likely to be from a burial dating to the Late Saxon or early medieval period.

1968. Casual Finds.
During construction of the ring road many bones (both animal and human) were recovered between end of Minstergate and the Little Ouse River. Several human bones are now in local homes.
A skull of a lightly built male of Late Saxon/early medieval type was brought to Norwich Castle Museum.
