Summary

According to an 18th century document this is the site of St Andrew's Cross. In 1970 skeletal remains were found during the digging of a sewer trench here. It is likely that these relate to medieval burials found nearby during excavations in 2004-5 (NHER 40819).

2004-5. Evaluation and excavation.
Further human remains have been discovered during excavations in the immediate vicinity, and it has been suggested that these inhumations form part of the medieval cemetery belonging to St Andrew's Church.
