Earthwork sections of bank and ditch which follow the alignment of a post medieval trackway mapped on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6" map (S2), are visible on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2021 (S3). The post medieval trackway mapped on S2 follows the alignment of The Shillgate Way and therefore could have Saxon origins. The earthworks relating to the trackway visible in the south of the record have been recorded separately as NHER 70100 and the sections in the north of the area have been recorded as NHER 70101.
