Summary

A Bronze Age round barrow is marked on a map compiled in about 1850. In 1950 it was visible as a low mound, but since 1974 at least it has not been visible as an earthwork. It is visible as a cropmark on 1988 BKS aerial photographs.

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Parchmark of a possible ploughed out round barrow, which is visible on BKS vertical aerial photographs from 1988 (S2). The diameter of the ploughed out remains of the mound is approximately 15m. The circular cropmark looks similar to that of a known Bronze Age mound also under the plough in the same field (NHER 6178), so it seems likely that this site is also a Bronze Age barrow and probably equates to the barrow mentioned above and subsequently ploughed.
S. Massey (NMP), 23 December 2002.
