Full Description
1964. About 292m (320yds) north of church of All Saints.
Pit containing charcoal, seen in face of cliff by informant.
Nearby, on line of cliff path, three 0.9m (3ft) diameter cropmark rings observed.
National Grid Reference cited as TG 1762 4330 = Context 1
See (S1).
Seen by B. Beeby (NCM).
February 1982. Cambridge University Committee for Aerial Photography Air Photography, undated.
Cropmarks.
Seven small ring ditches visible within area of two fields centred on TG 177 431.
Six small rectangular cropmarks also visible on same photograph.
D. A. Edwards (NAU) 24 February 1982.
Norfolk NMP, September 2003.
The rings that can be seen in this area on a Cambridge University Committee for Aerial Photography image from 1972 (S2) appear more like fungus rings that cropmarks of ring ditches/barrow. The apparent rectilinear enclosures would appear to be where something has stood and affected the grass underneath - such as caravans or large tents/marquees.
H. Clare (NMP) 9 September 2003.
