Map

May 2012. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two searchlight battery site comprising a diagnostic trefoil bank feature, along with related structures, is visible to the west of Bunwell Road, Spooner Row. The trefoil bank feature is centred on TM 0932 9675, between two probable standard type 22 pillboxes, one of which has been recorded previously (NHER 32714) and is still visible on photographs from 1970 (S2). Further structures and possible anti-tank cubes/obstruction are visible at the northern entrance to the field. Another possible structure, which may be related to the searchlight battery, has also been mapped in the field to the south, at TM 0936 9660. It is possible that this structure may have been related to agricultural activity, however, since the only photographs on which it was visible date to 1946.
