Full Description
1963. Sand pit at foot of Beeston Hill, Beeston Regis.
Worked flint flakes found including some scrapers. Bone fragments and pot boilers. Prehistoric sherd found on level with pot boilers. Small prehistoric sherd, coarse and full of small flints, Bronze Age?
Roman greyware sherds and two fragments of colour coated ware in podsolized sand and hard pan.
Worn medieval and post medieval sherds. Some glazed, some unglazed.
Also bronze pin 3cm (1 1/4 inches) long, knob made round pin shaft. Post medieval?
Small undated bronze scoop with most of bowl missing.
