Further investigations of the Cromer Forest Bed..Work later carried out on behalf of Sir Henry Wellcome…"from which he has obtained a large collection of characteristic flints" (Sy)

Two "rostro-carinate implements from the basal deposit below the Cromer Forest Bed" were exhibited by E. H. Rogers and J. Reid Moir at a meeting of the Prehistoric Society of East Anglia on 22 November 1933 (Sz).

FINDS IN OTHER MUSEUM COLLECTIONS

The Ashmolean museum hold a number of potentially Palaeolithic objects that were recovered from the “foreshore” at Cromer. These include 4 choppers (AN1959.13-14; AN1960.546-547) and 2 flakes (AN1960.545; AN1984.20). Information from (Su)

The collections of the Passmore Edwards Museum include 6 "Early Chellean" flakes "from the foreshore flaking site" (16161; ex Percy Thompson). These finds are undated by probably from the late 19th century or early 20th century. Information from (Su), originally via P. Greenwood.
The Passmore Edwards Museum was in Stratford and held the extensive collections of the Essex Field Club. It closed in 1994 and its collections were put into storage by Essex County Council.

17 "Palaeolithic flint flakes and roughouts" from the "foreshore at Cromer" are held by Birmingham City Museum. Information from (Sw).

An "eolith" from the Cromer "Forest Bed" is held by the Stoke-on-Trent City Museum (part of K48-1981). Information from (Sw).

The North Lincolnshire Museum holds 4 naturally formed pieces of flint collected in 1933 from the 'Cromer Forest Bed' by the late Dr D. N. Riley as they looked like prehistoric implements. The flints are part of a collection of flints from Cromer.
