Map

No mapped location recorded.

According to (S1) the Norwich Castle Museum holds a poorly-provenanced Palaeolithic flint handaxe that is just marked "Kelling/Salthouse". This object was not listed in (S2) and it could not be identified in the museum's records - there are no individually accessioned Palaeolithic objects with a Kelling/Salthouse provenance. The most likely location of this object is the Cox-Barclay Collection (NWHCM : 1935.57), which includes Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic worked flints that were collected by F. H. Barclay and J. Cox in a number of Norfolk parishes, including Kelling.
This handaxe is also noted in (S3) and (S4), although no additional information is given (listed with finds from Kelling).
