Summary

A number of objects were recovered from this area when it was still open arable land. These finds include a Neolithic flint cleaver, a Roman coin, a Late Saxon bridle cheek piece and a medieval brooch or buckle.

1 Roman coin (Constantius I AD 323-4. Trier, RIC vii 429).

Pre 1985. Stray Find.
Found by [3] on ploughed ground at [4]:
1 Neolithic large, partly bifacial flint cleaver made on a thick, heavy flake, 17 x 10.5cm. Cortical butt. Fresh condition with patches of thin iron staining.

1997-1998. Metal-detecting.
Found by [5] at [6] (NCM Enquiry EO6810):
1 medieval ?brooch (or buckle). Slight irregular cast bronze ring with beveled edges. At one point it is narrower and discoloured, ?by a missing pin.
1 Late Saxon bridle cheekpiece (just over half). Lozengiform terminal, oval internally, with knobs at three corners. Fourth corner has a D-section bar leading to a central boss with knob to other side. Beyond boss is stub of continuation bar. Very worn 10th/11th century. Polaroid taken.
