Summary

In 1982 a small assemblage of finds was recovered from molehills during a survey of earthwork features in this field. A number of prehistoric worked flints were found, including pieces of possible Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic date. Medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds and medieval/post-medieval brick fragments were also recovered.

Finds recovered from molehills during NARG survey of earthwork features in Dove House Meadow:
Undatable prehistoric flint waste flakes and 'pot boilers'.
1 ?Palaeolithic retouched "flint tool"…large, Palaeo-type patina".
1 ?Mesolithic flint blade.
1 ?Neolithic flint blade.
Medieval pottery sherds (coarse, 12th- to 13-century body sherds).
Post-medieval pottery sherds (including stoneware and Staffordshire comb ware).
Various fragments of brick and mortar - seem early but not closely datable.
'Pot-boilers', pottery and brick fragments donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1984.6). ?Palaeolithic and ?Mesolithic flints retained but other flints discarded.
