Summary

A Neolithic polished axehead was found at this site in 1967, as well as medieval and post medieval pottery. More recent metal detecting has recovered Roman and medieval coins, and a medieval buckle.

Polished flint axe about 685m northwest of Shrub Farm.
Cutting edge of polished stone axe, surface find.

Identified by [1] Dr. F. S. Wallis.

1967. Found whilst potato digging about 685m northwest of Shrub Farm.
Pottery: 2 twisted handles, glazed 13th to 14th century.
1 strap handle glazed 13th to 14th century.
Unglazed featureless body sherds 12th to 14th century.
Also recent sherds and 17th century stoneware.
