Summary

Iron slag and metal working debris has been noted in this area, concentrated in a large dip in the field, for the last thirty years. Debris was still being recovered in 1996, when a huge slab of tap slag was discovered.

1998. 'Masses' still occurring at this point including one huge slab some years ago no weathered into fragments. Information from landowner via member of the public who brought to NLA 14 July 1998 a good fragment of tapslag. [2]
