Full Description
May 1977.
Formerly apparently a Late Georgian house, five bays, two storeys; front doors in Tuscan porches in 2nd and 4th bays, with a lancet above the western door glazing bars and doors in Gothick style.
Removal of ivy in November 1974 revealed a 6th bay at the east end of the south front, containing a blocked door and window over, and showed that the present easternmost of the two doors is inserted on the site of a long narrow window - a corresponding blocked one revealed above it. Another such window is visible between the two doors, protruding either side of the Georgian window. Around the 'lancet' appeared an area of chequered brickwork. All
indicate a 17th century house altered around 1800.
Information from plans deposited with NAU by North Norfolk District Coucnil.
E. Rose (NAU), 1977.
