Full Description
Found before 1900. 'Bronze vessel probably Roman (compare with Newstead); about 4m (13 feet) deep in gravel; (?burial) pot; 25cm (10 inches) high. British Museum (Prehistoric and Romano-British Antiquities) 1900 7-17 1 (ex Savin). (S1)'. (Copy NCM card by R. R. Clarke).
British Museum register reads 'Found 13 feet deep in sand in a railway cutting near the church, with cover that fell to pieces. Contemporary with early Roman, but Iron Age'.
