Summary

A Neolithic chipped flint axehead was found by chance at this location in 1971. In 2014 a number of objects found here between the 1960s and 1980s were brought in for identification. These included Mesolithic flint adzes and a pick or adze; a Neolithic flint axehead; a Neolithic/Bronze Age flint fabricator and medieval and post-medieval coins. It is possible that some or all of the Mesolithic and Neolithic implements were previously reported finds.
