Full Description
April 2008. Field visit.
Two earthwork banks were identified in this area.
The first is aligned north-south and follows the line of the Mundford/Lynford parish boundary. It is recorded under NHER 51535.
The second bank is aligned parallel to the first is located about 12m to east. It is up to 5m wide and up to 0.3m high. This bank was originally recorded under NHER 51535 as it was believed to be contemporary at the time of the field visit but was moved to this record following additional analysis in 2017.
At the time of recording, it was speculated that the two earthworks may have continued further north and may have marked the outer edges of a trackway.
See NHER 51535 for further details.
H. Hamilton (HES), 11 June 2021.
December 2011. Field visit.
The area of Twenty Acre Plantation was visited, focusing on the area slighlty north of the previous field observation.
This earthwork bank was not observed.
See NHER 51535 for additional details of the adjacent earthwork following the line of the Mundford/Lynford parish boundary.

April 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The bank(s) described below were previously recorded as part of NHER 51535.
An undated, but probably post-medieval bank (in places a double bank) is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs and imagery from a recent lidar survey (S1)-(S3). It partially correlates with a minor trackway depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 6-inch map (S4), and is likely to be a post-medieval track, and perhaps a former boundary.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 3 April 2017.
July 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The bank or trackway described above continues further to the north, and forms part of a more extensive group of boundaries and ridges (NHER 63336).
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 4 July 2019.
