Full Description
OS field 6.
1960s - 1970s.
Fieldwalking during the 1960s and 1970s recovered a number of prehistoric flint flakes, scrapers and a strike-a-light. Pottery sherds from the Neolithic to the post medieval period were also retrieved, as well as burnt clay and metal working debris.
It is also recorded that several excavations took place and that these discovered a complete Early Bronze Age beaker and the hard fired clay of a hearth and a possible Early Bronze Age ditch. Four potboiler concentrations were also noted.
See detailed list in file and (S1).
E. Rose (NAU), 2 April 1982.

Cropmarks previously recorded in this field (6949 contexts 9 and 10) were not observed during the NMP mapping.
