Full Description
OS field 47.
1960s - 1970s. Fieldwalking finds.
Fieldwalking in the 1960s and 1970s recovered a small number of prehistoric flints cinluding retouched flakes and scrapers, a possible arrowhead and a borer and blade. Pottery sherds from the Late Saxon to post medieval period have also been recovered, along with Roman and possible prehistoric sherds.
It is also recorded that extensive remains of molten glass and kiln debris have been found here. Although this activity is undated, it is thought likely to date to the post medieval period.
See secondary file and (S1).
