Summary

In 1971 a number of animal bones and medieval pottery sherds were recovered from a hole about 2 ft (0.6m) deep. An almost complete pot, sherds, lava quern fragment and a round flint were found in a second hole about 4ft (1.2m) deep. These objects are all thought to be medieval in date.
