Summary
It is recorded that during the excavation of a ditch on this site, a human skeleton was found lying beneath a tree trunk. It was referred to as 'Early British' by the excavators, but the date of the skeleton is unknown. The remains were recovered from the parish of Witton, but the exact date and location are unclear.

Full Description
In excavating a ditch, human skeleton found lying beneath tree trunk.
Called 'Early British'.
Preserved in Museum of Royal College of Surgeons (?now destroyed). (S1).
