Map

October 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a road of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-2). This cropmark is centred on TG 3288 3104. This road had previously been amalgamated into NHER 6956 but has been reassigned its original NHER number. The road is visible as a negative cropmark indicating a compacted or metalled surface and extends between TG 32823111 and TG 3298 3098. Intermittent cropmarks of ditches are visible flanking the road on either side. It is possible that this is the course of the road shown on Faden’s 1797 map of Norfolk (S3). This field is recorded as having been called 'George's Old Road Piece' but the date of this name is not clear (S4).
