Full Description
October 2018. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Two undated fragmented ditches can be seen as earthworks on aerial photography (S1-S2). The ditches are parallel aligned and run approximately north east – south west before turning south east. On the most recent imagery (2006) the ditches are still visible as earthworks and may relate to the possible former medieval manor site (NHER 32253) to the east.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 10 October 2018.
April 2026. HER Enhancement: Forestry Commission Project K.
The two parallel ditches (see above) are visible as earthworks on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2018 (S3). As the survey was flown relatively recently, it is likely that the earthworks still survive. As discussed above, the features could relate to the possible former medieval manor site (NHER 32253) to the east, or to a medieval to post medieval trackway or possible former medieval strip field boundaries.
J. Powell (Norfolk County Council Environment Service), 27 April 2026
