Summary

A network of boundaries, probably of post-medieval date, is visible as earthworks on visualised lidar data. The boundaries lie to the south of Lynford park and appear to define the wider landscape surrounding (or perhaps once part of) the park. They also incorporate part of the parish boundary between Lynford and Mundford. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that the earthworks still survive.

Map

A network of boundaries, probably of post-medieval date, is visible as earthworks on visualised lidar data (S1). The boundaries lie to the south of Lynford park (NHER 30470) and appear to define the wider landscape surrounding (or perhaps once part of) the park. They also incorporate part of the parish boundary between Lynford and Mundford (see also NHER 63244 to the north and NHER 51535 to the south). Additional boundaries to the north (NHER 63246) also form part of this wider parkland landscape, as do boundaries to the east (such as NHER 61008), which have not been mapped as they lie outside the project area. Some of the boundaries are depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 6-inch map (S2). As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that the earthworks still survive.
