Summary

Inside St Mary's Church is the head of a Late Saxon cross, recovered from the graveyard around 1900. It is thought that this indicates the presence of an earlier church on this site, although the earliest recorded standing work is thought to be Early English in style. The nave, tower and porch are all Perpendicular in style, reusing 14th century doorways, though the building received a thorough restoration between 1870 and 1875.
