Summary

It is recorded that various possible Roman pottery sherds were recovered on the edge of a gravel pit in this area. The exact date and nature of this discovery are unclear.

Found at southern end of field, on edge of gravel pit:
Various possibly Roman pottery sherds.
Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1998.50.28).
Information from record cards (S1) and (S2).
The extent of this gravel pit is shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition Six-inch map (S3). A Roman urn was apparently found in this pit in 1870 (see NHER 7167).
