Maylands, Lime Trees, Aingale and Clough Cottage, The Buttlands (west side).
Previously part of a group of buildings recorded together as NHER 11766.

November 1976. Field Observation.
West side of The Buttlands visited by E. Rose (NAU).
A row of attractive early 19th-century houses, mostly with three window bays, set in a pleasant oblong green lined by trees.
The northern two houses on this side (NHERs 64631 and 64632) are fine late Georgian, probably early 19th century, of yellow brick, three bays and two storeys, columned porches (one covered in trained bushes forming the figures ED 1934).
South of these is a three bay, three storey red brick house (NHER 64633), central bay slightly projecting and bearing a large roundheaded blank arch within which are windows and two front doors. Pilasters not quite at ends of facades. Smaller wings to each side (the house is now divided into several dwellings).
Adjoining on south is a much larger yellow brick house (NHER 64634), taller although also three storeyed, five bays. In similar style to last except that there is only one large front doorway and the central bay rises slightly higher than the rest of the parapet. It has a small extension to south with its own blank arch containing the windows.
All in good condition.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Early 19th century. The four houses form a centre portion consisting of a pair of houses of three storeys and three windows and flanking wings of one house each of two storeys and two windows. Red brick. Bracket eaves cornice. Pantile roof, hipped…The centre window bay is flanked by pilasters forming a round-headed arch over the second floor window...
All the listed buildings in The Buttlands (West Side) form a group and also with Yew Tree House and House adjoining [NHER 41170]."
