Full Description
1973. Stray Find.
Ploughed up 15yds [13.7m] north of road and around 5yds [4.6m] west of garden fence:
1 medieval ring brooch. See sketch (S8).

Almost complete great squared-headed brooch found in three pieces (non-recent breaks) up to 25m apart in arable field adjacent to paddock, at east end of which the earlier find of an annular brooch was made.

In area of these fragments, a wrist-clasp found by another NMD member (object yet to be examined), (S3).
In western part of paddock, part of small-long brooch (object yet to be examined). [2], (S4).
The above finds suggest an inhumation cemetery.

Small-long brooch fragment reported is in fact head of florid cruciform brooch; all of one side and most of other missing. Most of top knob survives as does some gilding. Punched penanulets. Single pin lug on reverse.
Fracture at top of bow has been smoothed off and part-pierced by a hole and immediately above two holes have been drilled from rear; showing that the brooch has been repaired, (S4).
