Full Description
Barn at Newgate Farm c.40m north-east of Newgate Farmhouse (NHER 24094). Previously recorded under NHER 24094.
September 1987. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description excerpt:
"Barn. 18th century, coursed flint with some brick, brick dressings, asbestos roof. Five bays, roof to end one and a half bays to right rebuilt at lower pitch. Brick capped flint plinth, eaves courses rebuilt in brick. Large central opening to south, four windows, one per bay. Left gable and higher right gable weather-boarded. North front: no door, four vertical slits.
Interior: three-tier butt purlin roof with collars, struts from tie beams. Left end one and a half bays timbers renewed, king posts. Included for group value."
