Full Description
Straight field boundary continuing line of straight road, noted by R. R. Clarke (NCM) as the possible course of an old road. (S1) shows the road continuing to 1129 1540, but neither (S2) or (S3) (1836) show it any further.
None of these maps mark the straight road as straight.
Visited by E. Rose (NAU), 14 June 1978.
Surpisingly, the missing section marked by (S1) has left no trace at all; but the straight field boundary is a drop to the north of 1.2m (4 feet), with old trees: quite possibly a road line. Nothing about the existing road to west suggests an ancient date.
E. Rose (NAU).
