October 2025. HER Enhancement: Forestry Commission Project K.
Earthworks possibly associated with the course of a former post medieval road are visible on relatively recent (2021) visualised lidar data (S4). The alignment of the suggested former road appears to be solidified into the post medieval field boundaries mapped on the Thithe (S2) and Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6" maps (S3). It is therefore uncertain as to whether the surviving earthworks relate to the course of the post medieval road or to the the post medieval field boundaries mapped on S2 and S3. The features consist of sections of bank and ditch which follow the alignment of the former road/ boundaries recorded on the historic maps (S2 and S3).
